RISE
Rise is a student film about being too focused on the final goal, and not realising how far you've come. Wisp, a small spirit with a fiery hairstyle, has taken on the treacherous task of climbing a mountain. Its a tough journey, and he begins to grow tired. But with the help of an old sage and a mountain monster, Wisp learns that he already has something to be proud of, and his journey so far was more than impressive. Taking pride in his achievements, he strives to reach the peak.
I went into this project with a focus on creating a stylized environment with a mix of bright colours above the snowy white landscape. It gave me a chance to play with coloured lighting and unusual cinematography. Even if it isn't perfect, it taught me a lot, both for animation and modelling.
